On Hiatus

It's sad to say, but oh so apparent, that I have been on quite the hiatus. I knew I hadn't been blogging for several days but when I actually looked, the last posting was October 7th.

During these last 15 days not much has changed but I have started a new work schedule, and for some reason coming back from vacation was a lot more difficult than normal.

S'mores cups

It is the first official Make it Monday! To kick it off I am going to show you a simple way to make s'mores a year round treat. Last night we had a Pampered Chef party at my mother's house and we made a few treats for our quests. We made pumpkin cookie press cookies(which will later become a Make it Monday recipe so stay tuned), pumpkin fudge, and s'mores cups. The party was fall themed, hence the fall treats, but the s'mores cups were my husbands favorite so let me show you how I made them.

31 days to a better marriage.

Currently I am following this series titled "31 days to a better marriage". During the month of October everyday will cover a new topic. As Jolene puts it, "each article that is written will either encourage you, equip you, affirm you, challenge you, or inspire you in your role as a Godly wife, hence how the journey to a better marriage begins."

Blog schedule

Ok, so being the girl who can do anything can be/get a little chaotic, so now I am going to try and implement a blog schedule.  Because I cover such various topics, and you just never know what's going to be covered on that day but this will allow some consistency. This way, it will not only create a more organized approach for myself, and to whom ever follows.

Ready for my comeback!

Have you ever given a friend, family member or spouse a piece of advice, only to later find out you needed that very same guidance? That literally happened to me last night. The irony behind this is that I have been shoveling scripture down my husband's throat this past week, the very same scripture that brought me to tears, more like a sob, yesterday evening. I truly believe that this is a true testament on just how thoroughly God moves in our lives.

Chalkboard love

Recently, I have been aware of all the chalkboards and chalkboard related crafts printables etc. and I couldn't help but be inspired.

When I first stumbled upon the start of this chalkboard fad was a little less than a year ago when I was planning my daughter's 2nd birthday party. As I was searching the web for inspiration for theme and decoration ideas I found huge chalkboards for sale on Etsy. On these boards were information about the birthday girls, I only saw examples of little girls but I'm sure you could easily place an order for a little boy. It went from anywhere like how tall they were, how old they were going to be, down to favorite toys, movies, colors and favorite food. It was an excellent way to creatively display to your guests what your child was like and their interests. Not to forget, take a pictures every year and you have creative and cute way for you to remember those memories.

Getting my "teacher"on

I have an absolutely brilliant two year old daughter named Elicia, or Ellie as we often call her. For a while now, I have been wanting to get her started on a preschool curriculum, taught by myself that would cost me little to no money at all.  I am well aware that there are several that have great reputations but they cost money and I do plan on later getting her enrolled in a professional program at a school, but for right now I just prefer to do it myself.
